Networking & Connectivity
Built so your offices and remote staff stay connected when ISPs misbehave.
Wi-Fi heatmaps · Site-to-site VPN · SD-WAN · Failover routing · Structured cabling · Firewall management.
Book a Networking assessment →What it actually is
Your network is invisible — until it isn’t.
Nobody loves networking when it’s working. You notice it the day Teams freezes during the board call, or the fibre gets cut up the road, or the warehouse Wi-Fi covers everything except the warehouse.
Our job is to make it boring. Plan for two ISPs so one going down is a non-event. Design Wi-Fi from a floor-plan survey, not by guessing where to bolt an access point. Put a firewall in front of your network that catches what your antivirus didn’t. Watch it all from a dashboard so we see the slow Tuesday afternoon coming before your team writes the ticket.
In South Africa, this isn’t optional. Load-shedding, undersea cable cuts, the metro digging up your street — the question isn’t if something will misbehave this quarter, it’s which thing. The point of a properly-designed network is that your team doesn’t notice when it happens.
What we design & run
Six layers, one network, zero excuses.
Each layer alone is replaceable. Stacked, they make the network feel like it just works.
Wi-Fi that actually covers the building
Floor-plan heatmap survey before we propose anything. Then density-planned AP placement so the warehouse, the boardroom, and the bathrooms all work.
Dual-ISP failover routing
Primary fibre + LTE failover (or two fibres from different carriers). When one drops, traffic switches in seconds. Nobody on a call needs to redial.
Site-to-site VPN
Branches, satellite offices, the MD’s home setup — all on one encrypted private network. Same file shares, same printers, same security as head office.
SD-WAN traffic shaping
Teams and Zoom get priority. Bulk downloads get throttled. CCTV uploads use the second line so they don’t steal the boardroom’s bandwidth.
Firewall & segmentation
Edge firewall with intrusion prevention. Guest Wi-Fi separated from staff. CCTV and IoT on their own VLAN. A compromised webcam can’t reach your accounting server.
Continuous monitoring
Latency, packet loss, link saturation, AP health — tracked second by second. You don’t need to file a ticket; we’ve already opened one.
What runs while you sleep
The network polices itself.
Failover paths get tested. Logs get triaged. Firmware gets updated. The morning your fibre gets cut isn’t the morning we discover the LTE backup wasn’t actually working.
- ✓ Every WAN link probed every 30 seconds
- ✓ Failover test run weekly to prove it still flips
- ✓ Latency & packet-loss baselines tracked per circuit
- ✓ Firewall logs scanned for intrusion attempts
- ✓ Wi-Fi AP firmware updates staged for after-hours
- ✓ Rogue device alerts when something new joins the LAN
- ✓ VPN tunnel health verified for every branch
- ✓ Engineer paged if any link or service drifts
What you can show your COO
Uptime in numbers, not assurances.
Monthly network report
Per-circuit uptime, average latency, packet-loss events, top bandwidth consumers, planned upgrades. One page. Trends month-on-month.
Live status dashboard
See every link, every site, every AP in real time. Green, amber, red. No phoning the helpdesk to ask “is the line down our side or theirs?”
Uptime SLA in writing
99.5% or 99.9% uptime targets per site, depending on the connection mix you’ve chosen. Tracked monthly. Service credits if we miss.
Quarterly Wi-Fi resurvey
Spaces change. Walls move. Headcount grows. Every quarter we re-walk the floor plan with a heatmap tool to catch dead spots before your team does.
“We were drowning in user tickets and 3am server alerts. Two years on Burika’s managed support, our team hasn’t seen an after-hours incident — and our staff actually like calling IT now.”
— IT Manager, EurekaIT, Johannesburg
“Burika audited our setup, fixed three POPIA gaps we didn’t know we had, and now monitors everything quietly. Our MD finally stopped asking me “are we covered?””
— Operations Director, Joubea
